Kristan Fischer enters the Worlds Toughest Air Race - The Icarus Trophy

World renowned adventurer and Gondwana Outdoor Addict Kristan Fischer (Fisch) is set to compete in the ICARUS Trophy as the pilot of Team Paradrenalin. The first of it's kind the ICARUS Trophy is the longest, toughest and roughest paramotor race on the planet. A test of endurance, skill and flight for 2000km across America completely unsupported. The journey starts with up to 30 pilots from all around the world taking off in southern California on October 12, 2015 and will conclude 2 weeks later at the finish line (still to be determined).

A paramotor is a powered paraglider where the pilot is suspended from a nylon fabric canopy and propelled by a motor and propeller on their back. Flying with nothing more than a paraglider, motor and bivouac gear and equipment, Fisch will be relying on his skills not only as a pilot but also as an expeditioner and adventurer to help see his way through this magnanimous journey.

Fisch may be the pilot competing but there is much more to Team Paradrenalin than just the pilot. Fisch has surrounded himself with a fantastic crew that are working hard to make sure Team Paradrenalin is competition ready come October 2015. World Champion Ryan Shaw and Paradrenalin will be training Fisch in the lead up to the event in Arizona in the coming weeks.

This is a pioneer race held by The Adventurists. It has never been attempted before and is not just a race - it is an adventure.
