Who is Gondwana?

GONDWANA. It conjures up grand images of a mythical land that has evolved over millions of years to become the wonderful and fascinating place we call home. And a landscape as diverse as the Australian one demands to be explored. From rugged outback to wild coastline and modern urban jungles, Gondwana makes adventure clothing built to face the challenges presented by our ever-changing and unpredictable climate.


A little bit of history

Gondwana was the great southern landmass that formed as a result of the division of a much larger supercontinent known as Pangaea about 250 million years ago. This Gondwanan supercontinent consisted of present day landmasses: Africa, South America, India, Madagascar, Australia and New Zealand. The areas that are present-day Australia and New Zealand were the last to break away. In fact, they were still joined to Antarctica up until 80 million years ago. It’s no wonder we now enjoy such a diverse landscape, unique plant and animal life and every kind of climate imaginable.
