The Gondwana Story

At Gondwana, we are outdoor adventure addicts. We love to conquer new terrain, fight unpredictable elements and explore this great southern land we are so lucky to call our home.

Our namesake goes back millions of years. You see, Gondwana isn’t just our own outdoor brand; it’s the name of the southern hemisphere landmass before the Earth formed the continents that we recognise today. It was over 180 million years ago when Gondwana broke away. And today, nothing’s changed – we still love to breakaway, breakaway from the everyday routine of life and escape to the bush, the mountains, the sea, or wherever your passion takes you, to recharge with nature and reconnect with family and friends.

It’s about trading your smart phone for a travel guide, switching your office chair for a path less travelled and rugging up to watch your kids make their mark on the real world instead of the virtual one. It’s about turning off the central heating and breathing in the fresh outdoor air and spending less time with acquaintances and more time with the people that matter most.

We think nothing makes you feel more alive than exploring unchartered territory, that’s why we create tough outdoor gear, specifically designed to perform in our harsh environment, vast landscapes, and extreme weather conditions.

Spirit Of The Brand

The Inspiration

The new Gondwana logo design inspiration has been drawn from the original brand mark, the name and meaning of ‘Gondwana’ and the spirit of the brand. The logo has been developed to reflect what Gondwana stands for; an outdoor apparel brand that is distinct and different in the marketplace. Our new graphic also reflects the evolving direction of Gondwana; we are a brand that inspires individual experiences, human connectivity, and time treasured.

The Logo

Our new logo utilises interlocking ‘G’ letterforms to create a dynamic vortex like graphic. The wrapping forms curve and support each other expressing connectivity, strength and reliability.  Through this layout, the unity of the ‘G’ letterforms creates a graphic that symbolises the new direction of the brand. A direction of togetherness, strength and reliability, all of which interprets through to apparel that is robust, durable and encourages you to stay outdoors for longer.

The Palette

To keep a visual connection with our original branding and the meaning behind ‘Gondwana’, the new Gondwana logo features colours derived from the landscapes of our great southern land. Earthy tones of burnt orange, sunrise yellow and cloud grey work harmoniously to deliver a palette that connects to the Gondwana brand and links to our familiar voice of comfort, quality, function, adventure and connecting.
